The G20 for People, Planet and Prosperity

Rekindling Multilateralism in a post-Covid World.

February 8 (1:30 PM CET) – 9 (3:00 PM CET)

Universal access to vaccines and health care, growing inequalities and poverty, the worst recession since WWII and skyrocketing debt. These are the challenges and legacies of the pandemic, which go hand in hand with long-standing trends, from climate change to digital transformation. What to expect from the international community to address these unprecedented challenges? What are the priorities and possible deliverables of the G20 as the major multilateral forum chaired by Italy in 2021?

High-level personalities and top experts worldwide will come together to answer these questions on the occasion of the Think20 (T20) Italy Virtual Inception Conference. Among others, participants include: Paolo Gentiloni (European Commissioner for Economy), Virginia Gamba (Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict), Jeffrey Sachs (Director of the Center for Sustainable Development at Columbia University), Emma Bonino (former European Commissioner and Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs), Alicia Bárcena (Executive Secretary, Economic Commission for Latin America and the Carrabean – CEPAL), Fatih Birol (Executive Director, International Energy Agency- IEA)

The Think20 (T20) serves as the ‘ideas bank’ of the G20 and brings together hundreds of leading international think tanks to provide policy recommendations to the G20 leaders. ISPI is the National Coordinator and Chair of the T20 Italy, with IAI (Istituto Affari Internazionali) as the T20 Co-Chair and Bocconi University as the T20 Summit Co-Chair.
