Unmasking JinnSky: Action, Vulnerability, and the Emotional Blueprint Behind Ocean’s Heart

In an industry where performance demands endless adaptability and emotional exposure, Thai actors Jinn Jinna Navarat and Sky Suttinun Thiensuwan are defining a compelling new synergy on screen. Bringing together distinct artistic backgrounds—Jinn, a seasoned leading actor with over a decade of high-profile experience in Thai entertainment (including starring in Thailand’s 2015 Academy Award entry How to Win at Checkers (Every Time)), and Sky, a multi-talented actor, guitarist, and keyboardist—the duo first captivated audiences in Trapped by My Ex’s Uncle before taking on the thrilling lead roles in Kongthup Production’s action-romance drama Ocean’s Heart.

In this exclusive interview, Jinn and Sky break down the physical and psychological architecture behind their craft—from navigating intense military training and hand-to-hand combat to utilizing rock and hip-hop soundscapes for high-stakes scenes. Beyond the screen, the duo also discusses their personal sanctuary rituals and hypothetical alternative careers.

In a profession defined by shifting locations and transient character states, how do you define the physical or emotional architecture of “home,” and what personal rituals allow you to reclaim your individual sense of self after immersing yourselves in such high-stakes narrative environments?

SKY: For me, home is the one place where I can fully be myself without any pressure. Just coming back to my own bedroom, surrounded by that familiar atmosphere, and taking a quick nap—that’s really all it takes to completely recharge after a long day at work.

JIN: Coming back home to play video games, get some rest, watch series, hit the gym, and live a slow-paced life—that is my ultimate safe zone and the absolute best way to recharge after a long day of work. It’s also like getting to step into another character’s shoes.

Stepping into narrative roles anchored in high tension and undercover secrecy demands significant adaptability. Beyond initial performance mechanics, how has working on Ocean’s Heart pushed you beyond your established comfort zones, and in what ways has this specific production accelerated your personal and professional growth?

SKY: It was a totally new experience for me to dive into military training, weapon handling, and hand-to-hand combat. Since I had never done anything like it before, it pushed me to learn quickly and really upgrade my skills in that area.

JIN:  Working on Ocean’s Heart has been an incredibly challenging role for me. From the complexity of the story and the diverse relationships between characters to the absolute top-tier action—it really felt like I was dusting off my skills and getting back into the groove.

Music often serves as a silent partner in shaping an actor’s emotional baseline for demanding scenes. If we were to examine your current music libraries, which tracks or genres would we find powering your daily lives, and did any specific soundscapes help anchor your internal approach to these characters?

SKY: I mostly listen to rock and pop-rock. The fast tempo and strong rhythms really get my energy up and put me in a focused, motivated mindset before I start working.

JIN: I listen to hip-hop music to get pumped up and make working each day more fun.

Your dynamic on-screen presence reflects a deep commitment to the craft of performance. Had your paths not converged within the creative arts, which alternative professional disciplines or dormant passions do you imagine would have captured your artistic focus?

SKY: I love cooking. If I were to open a business, it would definitely be a restaurant. There’s a special kind of happiness in seeing people enjoy the food I’ve prepared and hearing them say how delicious it is.

JIN: I think if we became YouTubers, we’d probably be food vloggers because the two of us love eating so much—especially when it comes to street food markets. Or else, we’d be travel vloggers, because we’d love to travel all around the world together.

Ocean’s Heart skillfully weaves action and suspense into its core romantic narrative. If you were granted total creative control to reimagine a classic cinematic thriller, which seminal film would you choose to adapt, and what psychological dimensions would you explore within those reimagined roles?

SKY: I’ve always been intrigued by the movie Predator. It makes me wonder: if I were put in the exact same life-or-death situation as the main character, how would I express those raw emotions and bring that performance to life?

JIN: The movie Catch Me If You Can. Normally, I prefer non-remake movies, but I’d love to play a role related to psychology; it’s very challenging for me.
